Signature Bodywork Massage

The Bodywork Signature Massage is our regular hour and a half session that includes a combination of massage styles and techniques called integrated therapy. Therapeutic in nature and designed to relieve lower back pain, sciatica, and sore tense muscles while still being a part of the relaxational massage family. In some cases deep pressure, PNF stretching and/or Thai Massage will also be incorporated. Each massage is different depending what your body's needs are for that session. We also offer massage in 30 min, hour and two hour increments.
Deep Tissue- indicates that mostly if not all deep massage techniques are used throughout complete session. |

Deep Tissue/Sports Massage

This massage is a popular choice for our weekend warriors. Our Sports Massage is not just a deep tissue massage; we use a variation of high energy vibrating and deep massage strokes to increase blood flow to recovering muscles. Several rotations of massage techniques can be used on the same muscle group and it is common to use a full hour session on just that specific group. Physicians often order this type of massage to speed up recovery and to increase range of motion for their injured patients; while athletes find this an effective way to ready themselves for both pre and post sporting events. Our Sports Massage is offered in both a 60 and 90 minute session for more of a full body "workout". |

Hot Stone Massage

Designed to release the flow of energy through the 7 Chakras of the body, Hot Stone Massage has become a popular therapy in the recent years. Performed with specially charged flat and oval river stones which are heated to a temperature slightly above that of the natural human's body, the stones are placed on certain reflex points. This helps the body release stress and increases the Chi or energy flow. We also use the hot stones as tools in the massage portion of this spa treatment. By far this is the best and least painful way to work on sore hypertense muscles and the oh so common Runner's IT Band trigger point pain. Sessions last 60 or 90 minutes, and for best results must be performed with massage oil rather than creme. Hot Stone Massage is available in all locations. |

Thai Massage
Put in simple terms, is the therapist putting you in yoga positions. It is done on the floor with both you and the therapist fully clothed. Thai includes a lot of deep pressure compression, stretching, pulling and bending. Sessions are usually two hours, you can also request a 90 minute routine. Expect to feel regenerated and vibrant afterwards. If you have severe problems with herniated disk or osteoporosis, a more gentle form of Thai is available. Please wear non-binding clothing and do not eat two hours prior this treatment. |

 Salt-Glows or Microbuff Body Polish

Salt Glows, also referred to as body scrubs, are specifically designed to increase circulation and exfoliate by scrubbing the skin with a course but gentle, non-greasy mixture of a sea-salt, essential oils, and moisturizing lotions. This is usually done on the back, feet or legs, but can be applied to any region of the body, excluding the face and neck. The Microbuff is the same treatment but using a more gentle water based creme, perfect if you don't have time to shower after your massage. Great way to combat dry skin due to cooler weather or for people that have a problem with skin blemishes and acne. You can add this tantalizing treatment to your massage or we now offer this in a 45 minute stand alone treatment. |

Paraffin Treatment
A combination of warm paraffin wax and glycerin help relieve the body of minor aches and pain and is great for moisturizing as well. The paraffin we use is a Sadoma Detoxifying Mud which is excellent for pre-arthritic conditions as well making it a great added bonus for the weekend warrior's massage. |

Ear Candling
Ear candling or coning is a simple, pain free, effective method for removing excess wax, fungus and in some cases parasites that may cause impaction in the ear canal. With you lying on your side a special conical candle is inserted gently into the external auditory meatus and lit. The combination of heat and design forms a vortex that draws the now softened deposits up into the cone. You may hear a crackling sound as this happens. After the session, if you choose, have the therapist show you what came out of your ear. You will be amazed! Session last about 45 minutes for both ears.
*Ear Candling is done on a homeopathic basis only and should not be substituted for professional medical care. People who are suffering from an active ear infection, have ear tubes, perforated ear drums, or artificial ear drums should not have ear candling done.

Body Hair Waxing and Trimming

Body hair waxing is now available for both men and women. True prices are determined by amount of hair to be removed. Bodywork Massage and Day Spas is one of the few places in the area that does men's Brazilian waxing. We use several different kinds of wax suitable for your skin and comfort level. We do offer for a slight charge a Lidocaine skin prep to numb the area being waxed, this reduces the sting factor. Please note that areas to be waxed should not be trimmed or shaved beforehand. Waxing will be done by same sex therapist and must be pre-scheduled as only senior staff provide this service. |

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

NMT has also been called trigger point therapy. It is done with a more concise, pinpointed application of pressure. Over a period of time a muscle will start to store an accumulation of toxins, these spots are called trigger points. Sometimes when the therapist hits a trigger point there may be some discomfort involved, soon this sensation will disappear and the muscle tension will return to normal. |
|
|

|
| |
|
|
Myofascial Release (MFR)

MFR is done using slow, deep strokes with little to no lubricant. It is designed to warm up the strong connective tissue which lies underneath the epidermis and sometimes gets "stuck" due to atrophy, injury, bad posture or stress, thereby preventing ease of mobility. |
|
|
| |
Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

CST is a gentle, hands on method of enhancing the flow of blood, lymph and cerebrospinal fluid. It facilitates the bodies own natural healing process. In addition, its positive affects are most apparent in the brain, spinal cord, immune and hormonal systems. Thus alleviating chronic dysfunction and pain. You can be fully clothed for this treatment. |
|
|
PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

PNF is defined as: Specific application of muscle energy techniques that uses strong contraction combined with stretching and muscular pattern retraining. In every day language, is when the therapist helps you gain a further range of motion in a certain body part. Thus lowering the chance for injury when involving yourself in sports or even everyday activities. |

|
Ultrasound and E-Stim

Ultrasound and Electronic Stimulation are both therapeutic modalities used for rehabilation. Ultrasound sends gentle heat waves deep into the muscle, helping relax tight tissue. E-Stim, stimulates the muscle and increases healing time. Dr's Rx may be required for this therapy. |
